Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) Champions, Rivers United are not thinking about their opponent but focused on themselves, this was revealed by midfielder, Joseph Onoja.

The ‘Pride of Rivers’ will confront the Champions League defending champion Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in the first leg of the qualifying round of the competition.

The game which will come up at the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium on Sunday will witness two champions trading tackles with one another.

Onoja said they are Nigeria’s champions and must prove that they deserved to be champions.

“The spirit in camp has been warm and receptive. We know what Is at stake.”

“We are not thinking about our opponent, we are thinking about ourselves, what we can do.”

“As far as we are concerned, we are the champions of Nigeria and we have to play like champions. Our opponents what they are doesn’t matter to us. We just have to do what we know how to do best, win”, he told the club media.
