Rivers United returned to the shores of Nigeria after honoring their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2nd preliminary 2nd leg match against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco on Sunday where they lost 6-0.
The “Pride of Rivers touched down at the Murtala Mohamed International Airport Lagos at 4:05am Nigerian time on Tuesday as reported on the club’s Facebook page.
Rivers United were unable to pick the group stage qualification ticket as they bowed out of the competition via a 7-2 aggregate score to Wydad AC and will now compete in the CAF Confederation’s Cup.
