After dropping from the CAF Champions League to the Confederation Cup, Nigeria’s last two representative in CAF interclub competition, Plateau and Rivers United will today know their opponents for the final playoffs round, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Plateau United were dubiously sent out of the CAF Champions League after Esperance were awarded a penalty from a foul well outside the box while Rivers United were well beaten 7-2 on aggregate by Wydad Athletic.
Both teams will have a chance to fight for a place in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages but will first have to navigate their way past the opponents to be named today.
