CAF announces increase in prize money for winners of CAF CL and CAF CC

Confederation of African Football(CAF) has announced an increase in the cash prize for the winners of CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

The previous winner of the Champions League earned $12.5 million while the winner of the Confederation Cup collected $6.375 million.

According to the update from the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the new winner of the Champions League will earn $17.6million while the winner of the Confederation Cup will get $9.9 million.

The two trophies are presently in Morocco, Wydad Casablanca won the champions league while RS Berkane emerged as the winner of the Confederation Cup.

Nigerian outfits Rivers United(CAF CL), Plateau United(CAF CL) and Kwara United(CAF CC) are still in contention for the big prizes.
