Botswana 0-2 Nigeria: Super Falcons Revive La Decima Dream

Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Thursday night rekindled their chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with a 2-0 win against Botswana, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

The Falcons who suffered a 2-1 loss in the opening game against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa pick up themselves against debutante, Botswana.

Randy Waldrum made some changes with Chiamaka Nnadozie, Francisca Orgeda, Ngozi Okobi and Toni Payne all starting.

Onumonu grabbed Nigerians’ first goal in the 21st minute when she latched on to an exquisite pass from Halimat Ayide and sneaked the ball past a sprawling goalkeeper, Sedilame Boseja.

Substitute Christy Ucheibe scored with her first touch moments after her introduction with a textbook header from a corner kick in the 2nd half.

The Falcons with the win are second on the Group C table with a better goals difference than their opponents.
