“?Arjen Robben will likely miss the start of the new Bundesliga campaign after suffering an injury during Bayern Munich’s friendly on Saturday.
The Dutch winger was forced to come off after 35 minutes when he pulled up after sprinting. Although Bayern fans would have hoped it was nothing serious, it was later confirmed to be an adductor muscle injury that will keep him out of action for six weeks.
Robben, 32, has been plagued by injury woes in recent seasons and only made 15 Bundesliga appearances last season because of a similar injury.

“The injury to the player’s right leg was diagnosed after an examination conducted by the club’s medical unit in Munich on Sunday. Robben will be sidelined for approximately six weeks,”? a statement from the club read.
“He felt something in his muscle,” Ancelotti said after the game. “The doc will examine it. I hope it’s nothing serious.”

Ancelotti will be hoping Robben can shake off his injury problems. The Dutchman has one year left on his contract, but is thought to be open to extending his stay with the Bavarian giants. The winger has been a star since arriving from Real Madrid in 2009. Luckily, Bayern possess plenty of options on the wings to fill the void during his absence.
Bayern will begin their season when they face Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup next month before starting their Bundesliga defence against Werder Bremen on August 26.
