Bayelsa United, Dream FA Ladies Are Champions Of Bayelsa State Federation Cup

Aiteo Cup Champions Bayelsa United on wednesday made a statement of intent with a 4-1 victory over Dreams Football Academy in the Bayelsa State Federation Cup final at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa.

Favour Martins gave the Prosperity Boys the lead on 14 minute from Alex Oyowah intelligent move, seven minutes later Akali Murphy leveled the scoreline for Dreams FA from a miscommunication in the Bayelsa United defence line.

Midfielder Stephan Wisdom long range shot made 2-1 on 35 minute for the Aiteo Cup Champions ensuring that the hope of the non league side lifting trophy was abbreviated.

Man of the moment Alex Oyowah on 65 minute increased the scoreline for Bayelsa United through Tarabina Biweribo throw in. When it looked like it was going to end 3-1 Robert Mizo compounded the woes of Dreams FA making it 4-1.

Meanwhile Dreams FA Ladies who made their debut in the Bayelsa State Women’s Federation Cup this year beat Crusaders FC 5-4 on penalties to win the final of one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country.

Bayelsa United and Dreams FA will represent Bayelsa at the National Aiteo Cup later this month.
