Awoniyi in Shearer’s team of the week

Nigeria forward, Taiwo Awoniyi has been included in English Premier Legend, Alan Shearer’s team of the week, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

The Super Eagles striker scored the only goal for Nottingham Forest which sunk giants Liverpool on Saturday.

Awoniyi with a minute earned his side 1-0 victory and this caught the eye of the former Newcastle striker, Shearer.

“It’s not every day you score the winner against Liverpool!” Shearer said.

The starting XI includes: Dean Henderson (Nottingham Forests); Seamus Coleman (Everton), Sven Botman (Newcastle United), James Tarkowski (Everton); Mohamed Elyounoussi (Southampton), Youri Tielemans (Leicester City), Casemiro (Manchester United), Leon Bailey (Aston Villa); Miguel Almirón (Newcastle United), Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest) and Erling Haaland (Manchester City).

The Team of the Week was published on the Premier League’s verified Twitter handle.

Awoniyi has scored three goals this season for Nottingham Forest, with two of the goals giving them the two victories recorded by the team so far.
