Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly set to complete a permanent move to Serie A club AS Roma from the Emirates as a deal for the 26-year-old is apparently being agreed.

As reported in  The Daily Star, Arsenal has apparently asked for a fee of £15m for the Polish keeper and AS Roma are expected to pay to keep him at the Stadio Olimpico.

Szczesny appeared 181 times for the Gunners across a five year period between 2010-2015. However, since Arsenal signed Chelsea veteran shot-stopper Petr Cech, the 26-year-old lost his position as first choice shot-stopper at the Emirates.

The 26-year old has been on loan at AS Roma for two seasons now and has appeared for the Italian side 61 times as he establishes himself as Luciano Spalletti’s first choice goalkeeper.

Having only conceded two goals in his last five games and appearing in all 19 of Roma’s matches this season, it is understandable as to why the Serie A side are keen to keep the Polish international at the club as they look to close the gap on Juventus.

With Arsenal having Petr Cech and David Ospina lined up as their first and second options, the Gunners offloading the 26-year-old seems the most logical decision and for a fee of £15m, they will get their money’s worth for the Pol.

The Italian side will be hoping that Szcznesy can keep his fantastic form ongoing as they prepare for a league match against tenth place Udinese. Three points would see the I Giallorossi close the gap on Juventus going into the second half of the season.
