“?Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, both of whom continue to be linked with moves away from the club as the contract saga rumbles on, clearly haven’t been keeping team-mates in the loop with their plans as Olivier Giroud has admitted he doesn’t know what the pair want.

Both Ozil and Sanchez are currently due to be out of contract in the summer of 2018 and neither appears any closer to committing their future to the Gunners despite several months of protracted talks and negotiations.

Giroud, along with fellow countrymen Laurent Koscielny and Francis Coquelin, did sign on the dotted line this week, agreeing a new long-term contract. He would like his superstar colleagues to do the same, but at the moment he has no idea if they will.

“Obviously we hope they’re going to do the same but it’s up to the player,” he told Sky Sports.

“I really wanted to sign another contract and I don’t know what they want, but hopefully they will do it soon,” the French international added.

On the subject of his own situation, two-time FA Cup winner Giroud said, “It’s been a few months that we’ve been talking about it; I’m happy it’s happened. I feel good in this Arsenal family and I want to win some more trophies.”

Sanchez in particular has been Arsenal’s key man this season. He returned from another summer of international duty with Chile as fit as ever and has scored 13 Premier League goals so far in 2016/17 – only Chelsea’s Diego Costa has currently scored more.

Speaking on 90min’s weekly preview show this week, fan vlogger Troopz strongly stated that while Ozil can be replaced, Sanchez absolutely mustn’t be allowed to leave (video below).
