“?As reported by “?Sport Witness, it seems Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette wasn’t the only striker Arsenal were interested in signing this summer.
News has filtered through they were also after Andrea Belotti; the striker moved from Italian club Palermo to fellow Italian outfit Torino in 2015 and it’s been a good season thus far for the player – he has scored eight goals in 11 appearances and has tabled four assists.
West Ham are also said to be interested in the player; the fact they lodged a bid for Lacazette in the summer is perhaps an indication the two London clubs have a similar scouting network.
Back to Belotti, and it’s been claimed Slaven Bilic’s side bid €30m for the 22-year-old in the summer; meanwhile, Arsenal were apparently ready to go as high as €35m, but any advances were met with a firm ‘no’ by Torino.
It seems they value the player at well beyond €40m, or at least they did a few months ago; given his start to the season, he’s probably worth far more than that now.
Given today’s market, an estimated €60m is a lot for a 22-year-old, so it seems a January move for the player is unlikely, and both clubs will surely be monitoring the situation to see how his season pans out.
Having scored three goals in only four games for his country, it seems Belotti is the real deal, so come the summer, if he keeps heading in the right direction, Arsenal and West Ham will probably find they’re not the only clubs interested in his signature.
