“?Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann says he rebuffed interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer in favour of staying in the Spanish capital.

The 25-year-old is one of the most coveted talents on the planet after a brilliant season with Atletico was followed by an outstanding individual tournament with France at Euro 2016, where Griezmann scored six goals en route to the final – winning the Golden Boot.

However, while Griezmann endured the heartache of losing both the Champions League final to Real Madrid and the Euro 2016 final to Portugal, he insists he is happy at the Vicente Calderon.

Griezmann told Le Parisien when asked about PSG’s interest.“Yes (there was interest), but as it was during Euros I told my agent I do not want to listen.

“I told him I do not want you talking to me of Atletico or Paris. I want you to leave me in Clairefontaine. But I know they (PSG) were very interested. They are a big club that wants to become even bigger. I hope for them that they will get there.”

Griezmann has started this season impressively, notching four strikes in the league already and is likely to be heavily linked with a move away from Atletico if his current form continues. Manchester United and Chelsea are also thought to be chasing his signature but looks to be comfortable at his current club – and it would take a bid of around £80m to prise him away.
