With reactions still trailing the impressive performance of Nigerian teams after all four avoided defeat in the preliminary round first leg fixtures of both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, the National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi has joined other stakeholders in giving them kudos.
He said: “Though the job is not yet completed, our teams were very decent, particularly Remo Stars that went to Rabat for their debut and forced AS FAR to a draw.
“On behalf of everyone at ANFASSC, I congratulate Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars and Kwara United for the spirited performance, hopefully we will have all four teams in the group stage this season.”
Remo Stars held ASFAR to a 1-1 draw in Rabat while Kwara United defeated AS Douanes of Niger Republic 3-0 in Lagos in the CAF Confederation Cup fixtures.
League Champions Rivers United defeated Watanga FC of Liberia 3-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium, Port Harcourt while Plateau United forced Stade Manji of Gabon to a 2-2 draw away from home in the CAF Champions League fixtures.
