Nigerian forward, Junior Ajayi has been ruled out of Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League match-day two encounter against KCCA FC of Uganda next week Tuesday due to a muscle injury.
Ajayi missed Al Ahly’s Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Esperance due to the muscle injury he picked up in the Egyptian FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Assiouty Sport last week Monday.
According to a report in Egyptian website, Kingfut.com, there were hopes that the former CS Sfaxien of Tunisia striker will join his teammates for the trip to Uganda, but has been declared unfit for the game after failing to recover from the injury.
The former Shooting Stars of Ibadan player has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils this season and has fired nine goals and 11 assists.
Al Ahly, who are the most successful club in the history of the CAF Champions League with eight titles are looking to add to another one to their rich trophy cabinet
this season.
The Red Devils who last won the competition in 2013 were losing finalists last year.
