Aiteo Cup: Quarterfinal Matches To Be Played As NFF, LMC Step In

Following NFF’s decision to award Kwara United the second slot for the CAF Confederation Cup, clubs have withdrawn their participation from the 2022 Aiteo Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

This in return has rendered the tournament worthless as no prized money involved while clubs incurred debts trying to partake in it.

Kano Pillars is one of the clubs who pulled out of the Aiteo Cup due to financial constraints.

However, the NFF, LMC and all the eight quarter finalists held a resolution meeting on Friday with some of the decisions below taken in the spirit of Fair Play:

3. All the 8 Quarter finalists shall be refunded their expenses – #3m each as compensation;

4. Katsina and Heartland, if to replay, shall receive #5m each;

5. SEMI finalist shall receive #2m each as subsidy

6. Finalist shall receive #1m each as subsidy.

7. Winner shall be compensated with an upward review of prize money with at least 50%;
