AFCON U-20 : Flying Eagles Captain Bamaiyi talks tough Ahead of Senegal match on Sunday

Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bamaiyi has expressed full confidence that this team can go all the way and be African champions again at the U20 AFCON, which kicks off Sunday in Cairo, Egypt.

“We’re fully prepared going into Egypt,” the no-nonsense central defender assured.

“We are unshaken that our opening game is against Senegal because we’re now 19 matches unbeaten right from the WAFU B qualifiers.

“We will make Nigerians proud, we only need their prayers and support and by the special grace of God we are coming back with the trophy.”

He said they have received the full support of the NFF in their quest to be U20 AFCON champions for the eighth time.

“We thank NFF for their support right from the first stage of the preparations,” he said.

“They have made the work easier for us and now it’s left for us to take our own destiny in our own hands and deliver.”

Nigeria last won the U20 AFCON in 2015.
