“?AC Milan’s capture of veteran keeper Marco Storari may have come as somewhat as a surprise to many followers of the Rosoneri, but manager Vincenzo Montella has explained his reasoning behind the move.
As reported by “?FourFourTwo, the former Italian international said, “I have known Storari for a long time, we wanted to send Gabriel out on loan to play and then we learned of this possibility.

He went on to say, “Marco knows the environment and can be important both on and off the field. He knows what it means to play for AC Milan and I am sure that his experience will come in handy.”
Storari arrived at the San Siro from Cagliari on Tuesday, with Brazilian stopper Gabriel going in the other direction on loan for the remainder of the season. The 40-year-old will now commence his second spell with the Milanese club, having spent three years at the San Siro between 2007 and 2010.

However, the former understudy to Gianluigi Buffon at Juventus only made 13 appearances for Milan in that time, spending the majority of his first spell with the club on loan at various sides, such as Fiorentina and Sampdoria.
Now though, Storari will replace Gabriel in playing second fiddle to 17-year-old prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma and Montella is hoping his experience will help the teenager develop even further.
