Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie is ambitious of winning more laurels after claiming her first trophy in China with Wuhan Jianghan on Sunday
Oparanozie was elated after her club won the Beijing Women in the final of the Chinese FA Cup trashing Beijing Women 3-0.
Zhu Hongguo broke the deadlock in the 45th minute before a brace from Temwa Chawinga ensured that Wuhan Jianghan were crowned champions of China.
Oparanozie saw only seven minutes of action in the game as she was introduced in the 83rd minute to replace Tabitha Chawinga.
The 28-year-old however took to social media to share her excitement following Wuhan Jianghan triumphed.
“Cup champion! 1st trophy in China, more to come, on God,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
The former Dijon FC could however see her dream of adding to her laurel come true with her side sitting comfortably on top of the Women’s Super League with 30 points having won all their 10 matches played in the league so far.
The Nigerian had enjoyed some level of success during her professional career in the national team.
She was in the Falcons’ squad that claimed the 2010, 2014, 2016, and 2018 WAFCON titles playing key roles in the process.
The Owerri-born player won the Golden boot at the 11th edition of the WAFCON held in Namibia in 2014.
The striker however missed out on the last WAFCON in Morocco due to COVID-19 restriction in China but could return to the team for next year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
