NPFL Fines El-Kanemi Warriors N3.5 Million and Imposes Stadium Closure for Security Breaches

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a fine of N3.5 million on El-Kanemi Warriors for security violations during their match against Ikorodu City, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

In addition to the fine, the NPFL has ordered that the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri be closed to fans for the rest of the season. The decision follows incidents where El-Kanemi Warriors supporters damaged Ikorodu City’s vehicle after the match and threw objects onto the field during the game.

The club has been given the option to submit a written response, either accepting the penalty or opting to appear before a disciplinary panel for further consideration.

The NPFL has been stepping up its efforts to address security concerns at matches, taking strong actions against clubs involved in such lapses.
