WAFU B AFCON : Falconets Face Hosts Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast In hot contest

Nigeria U20 women’s national team, Falconets will take on Ghana, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso in the maiden WAFU B Nations Cup to be hosted by Ghana.

The U20 regional age-grade competition will hold from 20th May to 4th June, 2023.

The tournament, organized by the West African Football Union Zone B, will see seven countries compete for the title. Apart from Nigeria, the other participating nations include Ghana, Niger, Benin, Ivory Coast, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

The venues, the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex have been selected for the competition. The Secretariat of the West African Football Union Zone B has also released the logo for the event.

The WAFU U20 Women’s Cup is a women’s association football competition contested by national teams of all West African Football Union.

The first edition was scheduled to hold in 2022 with eleven teams but was postponed

It was also planned to hold in November 2021 but it was again postponed until May, 2023.
