OFFICIAL: Leon Balogun QPR Gets New Manager

With a statement on their official website, Championship club Queens Park Rangers have announced the appointment of Neil Critchley as the new head coach of the club.

Queens Park Rangers had been searching for a new coach after the departure of Michael Beale to Glasgow Rangers – leaving the Hoops after six months in the dugout.

Critchley has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal at Loftus Road, and will be managing Nigeria international Leon Balogun.

Just like Gerrard, who managed Balogun at Glasgow Rangers, Critchley started his coaching career at the Liverpool academy, working with the U18, U19 and U21 teams.

The Crewe native coached Ovie Ejaria, Sheyi Ojo and Bobby Adekanye during his time at the Liverpool Academy.

The 44-year-old English football tactician won promotion to the Championship with Blackpool in 2021, before joining Aston Villa.

Balogun made twelve appearances for Queens Park Rangers under Michael Beale and was on target against Wigan Athletic.
