Desserts, Okereke on target as Cremonese win big in friendly

Club friendlies continues across Europe as teams get themselves in shape for the return of club football after the world cup final and Nigerians have been making strong statements in the preparatory games, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

This is as a result of the country’s failure to pick a ticket to quarter and the latest to register at least a goal is the duo of Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke who hit the target for Cremonese in their 6-0 rout over Salssomaggiore.

Dessers scored from the spot in the 24th minutes while Okereke scored in the 38th minutes as Cremonese led 4-0 going into the break.

The Serie A outfit added 2 more in the second half to make it 6-0.

It hasn’t been the best of start for Cremonese in the league but the world cup break could spell a turnaround for them as they look to secure their place in the Italian topflight league for the 2023/24 season.
