Ogun State Chapter of Nigeria Football Supporters’ Club(NFSC)has decorated the President of All Stars Football Club,Abeokuta,Alh. Waheed Adeoye Lawal as it’s Patron.The colourful event took place on Saturday at the All Stars Secretariat,inside MKO Abiola Stadium,Abeokuta
The Supporters Club,with their usual pump and peagentry harmed with their Drums and Trumpets trilled themselves,onlookers and all and sundries.The atmosphere was frenzied with excitement and lots of joy from the young and old.
The Supporters’ Club’s Chairman,Olatokunbo Oladehin who led the delegation,while decorating Alh. Lawal,said they identified him as one who is very passionate about football and it’s growth in the State,hence the deserved honour. Akinlotan disclosed that the Club has many other Patrons and Matrons like the Iyalode of Yorubaland,Iyalode Alaba Lawson and present and past Governors and Commissioners of Sports,but the All Stars President is unique for the fact that he has played the game and still administer it
Lawal,who is also Patron of Athletics Association of Ogun State thanked the Supporters Club for recognising him,he promised not to let them down anytime he is called upon.
The newly decorated Patron,in his usual characteristics took time to have a look on the state of football in the State;He frowned at the State Government’s decision to put MKO Abiola Stadium’s Mainbowl and Training Pitch under lock and key,he said being Patron of NFSC can only be put to function when there are football activities in and around the Stadium,but without that they cannot be blowing trumpets and beating drums to empty Stadium
Lawal,who doubles as the Chairman of Ogun State Teqball Association and Coordinator Ogun State Community Football Development advised the newly inaugurated Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Board to as a matter of urgency amend the Statutes of the federation to allow more genuine Stakeholders to come on board,he opined that the system that only give the thirty-seven FA Chairmen and a few Stakeholders voting rights is not fair and equitable
Meanwhile,it was double celebration at the All Stars’ Secretariat as the Club took it in it’s stride to honour the newly reelected board member of the Nigeria Football Federation and Chairman of Ogun State Football Association,Alh. Ganiyu Majekodunmi.A felicitating Card was presented to him on behalf of the All Stars by the President amidst thunderous applause and shares
Ogun FA Chairman fondly referred to as Alhaji Majek thanked all members and Elders of All Stars FC,Abeokuta,for the honour bestowed on him,he enjoined all football Stakeholders in the State to come together as one in order to move the game forward
Alh. Majek disclosed that a football competition is in the pipeline from the stable of the State FA which will bring together all major All Stars football Clubs in the State,where they would compete in an atmosphere of friendliness and rancor-free
He disclosed that the NFF President,Ibrahim Gusau has mandated all States’ FA to each own a football Academy,that as such,a Committee that will see to the modalities of establishing one has just been inaugurated
Members of the Committee who were on the entourage of the FA Chairman to the All Stars Secretariat included the Chairman of Nigeria Football Coaches Association,Ogun State Chapter,Olasiyinde Bankole,Chairman of the Nigeria Referee Association,Ogun State Chapter,Obayemi Olatunbosun,Ijebu United’s Chief Coach,Akeem Busari,Ogun FA Board Member,Abiodun Odejimi among others
