Nigerian youngster sets new Champions League Record

Mål: Nusa (BRU) 0-4 (89)

Super Eagles-eligible striker Antonio Nusa set a new Champions League record on Tuesday evening.

The Club Brugge forward had his first feel of Europe’s elite competition with fifteen minutes to go in Club Brugge’s encounter with Zaidu Sanusi’s Porto.

The Nigerian became the youngest player ever to score on his Champions League debut

After entering the pitch as a substitute, the Norwegian-Nigerian teenager was on target on the 89th minute mark as the Belgian Pro League champions thrashed Porto 4-0.

Nusa put the icing on the cake when he beat the offside trap and slotted the ball past the Porto keeper, Diogo Costa.

Nusa, at 17 years and 149 days, becomes the second-youngest goalscorer in Champions League history behind Barcelona forward Ansu Fati who scored on his Champions League debut at 17 years and 40 days.

Born in Norway, Nusa is of Nigerian descent through his father.
