Serbia international Dusan Tadic has spent four seasons at Southampton after leaving the Eredivisie.
Southampton attacker Dusan Tadic is closing in on a move to Ajax as the Premier League club line up a move for Basel winger Mohamed Elyounoussi as his replacement, sources have told ESPN FC.
The clubs have been in talks over Tadic, who is representing Serbia at the World Cup, for several weeks and are close to agreeing a fee in the region of £18 million.
Tadic, who scored three goals in Southampton’s final six games, moved to England in summer 2014 from Groningen, has expressed an interest in returning to the Netherlands.
Elyounoussi, 23, could then move to Southampton for a fee in the region of £16m. He scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists in 44 appearances for Basel last season, including a goal and a man-of-the-match performance during the 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League in March.
And, sources have told ESPN FC, Southampton and Everton have launched bids for Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jannik Vestergaard.
The 6-foot-5 Vestergaard is currently in Russia with Denmark at World Cup, but he has yet to feature in the tournament.
The 25-year-old has spent the last eight seasons in Germany, first with Hoffenheim, then Werder Bremen and now Monchengladbach.
West Ham United and Watford are also weighing moves for Vestergaard.
