Plateau United striker believes that, having started the season on an impressive note, the confidence of the players of Jos club has soared.
Reuben Bala has told supersport.com that Plateau United’s ambition this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) goes beyond a top-three finish.
Bala also credited Plateau United head coach Kennedy Boboye for playing a big role in their impressive run so far in the NPFL this season.
“Yes, we have the belief that we can win the league,” began Bala. “You know when you start something on a good note, confidence will keep coming every day.
“We are not afraid of the other teams because we have played against them and know them. But we are taking each match as they come and our coach has kept us on our toes every time by reminding us that we have not won anything yet because the season has not ended.”
The Plateau United man also took time to talk about their being excused from playing this weekend against champions Enugu Rangers who are billed to play hosts to Zambian side Zesco United this Sunday.
Bala believes that Plateau United will have ample time to prepare for their next game against Katsina United at home.
“We are not playing this Sunday because we should have faced Rangers. But it is good for us because we will use this period to train and work on ourselves before our next match,” Bala told supersport.com.
Bala, who rose through the ranks of the Plateau United feeder team, is his club’s joint leading scorer with Elisha Golbe. Both of them are on four goals apiece.
