“?Mark Lawrenson has expressed his belief that Liverpool lack “nasty” players after they fell to a 3-2 home defeat against lowly Swansea on Saturday.
The Reds pulled the scores back to 2-2 having trailed in the second half, but Gylfi Sigurdsson put the Swans back in front, and Liverpool succumbed to a shock defeat.
Swansea scored with all three of their shots on target, consigning the hosts – who have also been beaten by Burnley and Bournemouth this season – to another unexpected loss.
Lawrenson bemoaned Liverpool’s lack of aggression, while praising the combative nature of Tottenham’s midfield in comparison.
“Look at Dele Alli at Tottenham. He’s an outstanding player, but he’s nasty,” he said on“? LFC TV. “Playing with someone like that is great.
“Once you have someone who will put their foot in”?they have [Victor] Wanyama too. I know the game has changed and tackling is more difficult, but you still have to have one or two of those.”
He added: “Liverpool do have passion, but not in that regard. Liverpool don’t have that [player who puts his foot in] at all.”
