“?Liverpool have joined the race to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to “?Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 27-year-old has been a target for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the past but is now said to be back on the Reds’ transfer network after an impressive run of form. The Croatia international has scored three Serie A goals in his past two games, taking his tally up to seven for the season.
The Anfield club will face a battle from bitter rivals Chelsea and Manchester United for Perisic, with all three Premier League teams said to be interested in the former Borussia Dortmund man.
Klopp previously worked with Perisic during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, during which they won a Bundesliga and German Cup double. Perisic was then sold to Wolfsburg halfway through the following season as Dortmund reached the Champions League final in 2013, ultimately losing to rivals Bayern Munich.
A potential move would represent a change in heart from both Perisic and Klopp, as the pair’s relationship ended in poor fashion. Perisic reportedly told Croatian television channel Nova TV that he received little support from Klopp who he accused of favouring other players while Klopp criticised such behaviour, labelling the actions childish.
Perisic spent two-and-a-half years at Wolfsburg before joining Inter in 2015. Perisic started his career at Croatian club Hajduk Split as a youth player before joining Sochaux. Spells at Roeselare and Club Brugge followed before Perisic joined Klopp at Borussia Dortmund in 2011. He scored nine Bundesliga goals in 42 appearances for the BVB.
