“?Gianluigi Buffon has managed to amaze the footballing world once again, after playing against one of his former teammate’s son.

The Italian shot-stopper has already defied all odds by continuing to be one of the best keepers in the world even at the ripe old age of 38.

In his Juventus side’s recent defeat to Fiorentina, Gigi lined up against 19-year-old Federico Chiesa who’s father, Enrico, played alongside Buffon 21 years ago at Parma.

Enrico retired seven years at Giallo-Blu Figline. The former striker, along side Gigi, won the UEFA Cup with Parmain 1999 before moving to Fiorentina later that year.

Two years later Buffon left the Stadio Ennio Tardini in a £31m move to Juventus, that saw him become the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.

Buffon has shown no signs of retirement plans and is still performing at the highest level in Serie A. ‘Superman’ has recorded a number of incredible feats in his time as a player, but playing alongside tow different generations has to be up the with the most astonishing.

Having been named the Italian Player of the Year for 2016, the former Parma man is showing that he is the top Gianluigi in Italy, following the emergence of Gianluigi Donnarumma at AC Milan.

17-year-old Donnarumma is being touted as the ‘next Buffon’ but it’s hard to emulate a legend that hasn’t even stopped playing yet.

It will be amazing to see what record or feat Buffon will achieve next, his sons could donning a Juve shirt with him still between the sticks, you never know. Whatever happens, he will always be a legend.
