Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport (H/T “?Football Italia), the stopper revealed that even his understanding of the new language is going well.

“I understand more than what I manage to say,” Hart explained. “It is a sufficient number [of words] to manage on the pitch. I don’t use Google Translate anymore, I swear!

“Being here is my life. Sometimes football is crazy, I have learned that. Now I find it a normal move in my career.

“I have learned a different perspective in football. I live well in a nice city, I play in a team with fantastic people and fans and everyday I learn something new. Not just in football.”

Quizzed on his strengths and weaknesses, he replied: “I think I have a natural talent, which emerges because I love football. If I manage to be at the maximum physical and mental condition it’s because of that love.

“I am never happy with myself, so I would say everything. I need to improve everything.”

The player also reflected on England’s embarrassment at last year’s European Championships:

“It was a very difficult situation.

“Let’s say going on holiday wasn’t a walk in the park. But one of the best things in football is that it always gives you another opportunity. In the national team too, and that is World Cup qualification.”
