Nigeria striker Ubong Ekpai has told our sports desk he is optimistic his Czech Republic club Slovan Liberec will progress to the next stage of Europa League following an emphatic 3-0 win over Qarabag FK yesterday.
Slovan Liberec are bottom of their group with four points from five games and need three points at Greek club PAOK Salonica early next month to have a chance of making it to the next stage.
“I am very happy with the big win, it’s the first full game I will play for the team and we won,” said the former Akwa United and Kano Pillars forward.
“It is dedicated to my mother who always encourages me.
“I haven’t lost hope, we can still make it to the next stage if we beat PAOK and the other team with seven points lost.”
