Former South Africa national team coach, Pitso Mosimane has backed the Super Eagles to win the group B 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers if they maintain their current form.
The Super Eagles are firmly in control after mustering two wins against Zambia and Algeria, while top rated Cameroon and Algeria are yet to find their bearings. They play against Cameroon next in August 2017. If they can avoid defeats in both legs, their chances of qualifying will become solid.
Pitso, who have kept a close watch on the Nigerian team since the start of the World Cup Qualifiers warned the rest of the teams in the group to pay attention to the Nigerians, who are now playing a football befitting of their standard.
“This is the real Super Eagles, they were very impressive against Zambia and Algeria. They are to me one of the teams to beat in the World Cup qualifiers,” he said.
“The quality in the team is mind blowing. They have players like Mikel Obi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and even as good as he is, Ahmed Musa plays from the bench. This is indeed the real Super Eages”.
