“?Serie A giants Inter Milan are said to hold an interest in signing former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, after the ex-Reds star ended his time with MLS side LA Galaxy.

The 36-year-old announced his time was up in America this week following a year-long stint with the club, and had reportedly received numerous offers to enter into management, including joining former boss Brendan Rodgers’ coaching staff at Celtic, as well as a head coach role at MK Dons.

However, according to “?the Independent, Inter have approached Gerrard to carry on his playing days in Italy. Their first contact is said to have come back in October, with the Italians apparently keen to bring the ex-England international to the club in the January transfer window.

The news comes after sources in Italy suggest that the Inter board have been disappointed thus far with the performances of their summer signings, and have been looking at bringing in Gerrard to the side to boost morale around the camp following a poor start to the campaign.

Inter are currently 13 points behind leaders Juventus in Serie A, and have already sacked their manager Frank de Boer after just 11 games, however the idea of returning to a top European side once more may be attractive to Gerrard.

In terms of management, reports suggest that Gerrard’s talks with MK Dons about the vacant managerial position are at a formative stage, but his dreams of returning to Liverpool as manager are well known to everyone around him.
