“?New York City FC midfielder and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard says he counts fellow Blues icon John Terry and Jody Morris as his best friends in football.
Lampard spent thirteen years at Stamford Bridge alongside Terry, through the Claudio Ranieri years before forming the spine of Jose Mourinho’s Premier League-winning side.
Considering the amount of time they spent playing with each other, for both Chelsea and England, it would be understandable for Lampard and Terry to be close acquaintances. However, Lampard also revealed Jody Morris, also once of Chelsea, is a very close friend of his too.
As New York City FC wait for the MLS play-offs to commence, Lampard sat down with the club’s YouTube channel alongside his two daughters, who guessed who their father’s best friends were. Watch in the clip below:
Lampard was also recently interviewed on the BBC’s Premier League Show and said he thinks Manchester City, despite going on a six-game winless run, are the favourites to win the title.
“I think Manchester City. I think they’ve bought well – I love Stones. I think they’ve got the best goalscorer in the league in Aguero, he’s a genius of a goalscorer,” Lampard said.
“I loved being there for a year, being around him in training, he’s a goal machine. He’d stand around a little bit in training and he’d score goals for fun.”
Lampard also said he has been impressed with Antonio Conte since the Italian’s appointment at Chelsea in the summer.
