“?Chelsea legend Didier Drogba could make a return to Europe this season, this time with Serie A side Napoli.

That is according to Calciomercato, via “?Football Italia, who are reporting that the Ivorian is on the Partenopei’s shortlist of strikers who could fill in for the injured Arkadiusz Milik.

The 22-year-old Poland international is the club’s top scorer, having notched seven strikes from nine appearances this season, and his presence up front will be sorely missed.

Milik is said to be facing several months on the sidelines following an anterior cruciate ligament injury, suffered whilst on international duty. He was forced to exit Poland’s match against Denmark on Saturday at half-time.

The country’s media officer Jakub Kwiatkowski revealed the worst after the game through a Twitter post.

He tweeted: “Arek Milik has undergone tests on his injured knee, which have shown damage to the anterior cruciate ligament. Arek will return to Napoli on Sunday. He is likely to have to undergo surgery and could be out for several months.”

Napoli have a few replacements in mind, including West Ham’s Simone Zaza and Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic.

Drogba, who won four Premier League titles and the Champions League in two stints with Chelsea, is believed to be a better short-term option.

The 36-year-old is now playing for MLS team Montreal Impact, but the North American league will be on winter break for several months, leaving Drogba with the option of playing elsewhere.

It’s certainly an option Chelsea could consider as well, as they would definitely love to have the veteran’s experienced head in the locker room again.
