“?Manchester United are reportedly preparing to raid their rivals Manchester City of four key members of the club, but they’re not players – they’re scouts.
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils are concerned that they are missing out on talented players across Europe to their City rivals, and intend to lure a section of their UK-based team to Old Trafford in order to bridge the gap between the two club’s transfer strategy.
The raid has been sparked by United chairman Ed Woodward, who demanded to know why the club has fallen behind top Premier League and other European clubs in attracting the game’s best young talent, despite the club being famed for it’s ability to produce youth through it’s academy and scouting system.
There are reportedly a group of scouts working for City under the management of Pep Guardiola who Manchester United feel are necessary should they wish to attract players to the club, and at the same time convince them that City is not the team in Manchester to play for.

The club are therefore prepared to snatch these scouts away from their rivals through the offering of higher wage brackets – up to 50% more than they earn at City – with Woodward suggesting that money is no object.
City Chief Brian Marwood is hopeful the club can keep hold of their prized assets in the scouting world, however United appear to be fully focused on stealing these scouts away to benefit the growth of their own academy system, which has been criticised in recent years.
Reports suggest that one scout has already traded blue for red, and there could be more to follow, with United suggesting that these scouts will mean the difference between finishing below City in the table or above them – something which they have failed to do for the last five seasons.
