“?Seven time Champions League winners AC Milan are preparing to make a surprise move for Spurs’ England international striker Harry Kane, according to “?Forza Italian Football.

The reported fee, which comes to around £73m, is expected to be offered to the North London club before they tie down Kane to a new deal.

The “?Express recently reported that Spurs are set to offer Kane the opportunity to become the highest paid player in the club’s history, in a deal worth £120k-a-week. Despite having signed a five-year deal in February, Mauricio Pochettino is keen to make sure his star striker doesn’t leave the club.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be interested in last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner, but whether Kane would be interested in leaving Spurs is as yet unclear.

Kane picked up an injury during his side’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland earlier in the month although he is not expected to be out for a long spell, Pochettino confirming the scan was much better than anticipated.

The 23-year-old had only registered a goal once this campaign but was beginning to show signs of returning to form before his injury. Last season he became the first player since Alan Shearer to score over 20 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons, a feat that has clearly brought out the admirers.

Milan are determined to get back to the elite levels of European football after a rapid decline in recent years. Having had a move for Romelu Lukaku rebuffed last summer, they will hope that Harry Kane is not put off by their lack of Champions League football.
