“?Serie A giants Napoli and Roma are hoping to bring Manchester United’s Italian full-back Matteo Dramian back to Italy ahead of their upcoming seasons.
According to “?Sky Sports, both Italian clubs are looking to make a move for the defender after dipping in form in his first season in the Premier League with Manchester United.
Napoli & Roma want to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian. Wasn’t in squad for Bournemouth game
The 26-year-old only joined from Turin based side Torino last summer in a £12.7m deal and made a good start to his Red Devils career at the start of last season.
However, since then he has plummeted in-form and with a change of management it seems the right-back could be heading for the exit door as it seems he doesn’t fit into Mouriho’s plans at Old Trafford for the coming seasons.
Darmian made 28 leagues appearances for United last term in the league and a further 11 appearances in all other competitions, and even found the net once in April at home to Crystal Palace.
Napoli are interested in the defender to recruit to their squad depth, and more importantly, add some fresh legs to their defence. They have already signed promising Polish duo Arkadiusz Milik and Piotr Zielinksi, as well as Emanuele Giaccherini and centre-back Lorenzo Tonelli, as they look to recover from the loss of Gonzalo Higuain.
Fellow Serie A side AS Roma are also pursing a move as a potential replacement for Mattia de Sciglio, who is linked with a move away from the Italian capital; with Liverpool one of the clubs chasing the young Italian.
Matteo Darmian featured four times for his national side while on duty in the European Championships this summer in France and was one of the players who missed a penalty against Germany in the quarter-final.
