“?Former Chelsea left-back Filipe Luis has revealed what his life was like under Jose Mourinho during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian, who moved from Spanish side Atletico Madrid to the London club in 2014, made just 15 appearances under the Special One, but nevertheless managed to pick up a Premier League winner’s medal for his efforts.

However, the 30-year-old does not wish to shed his Chelsea stint in a negative light, but, rather, recognises that he struggled to feel at home at Mourinho’s club.

Filipe told “?Tribalfootball: “I think it worked. I was champion there, I played a lot of games.

“But it [chelsea] wasn’t my home. I really felt like I needed to come back and be home again.”

Despite his success in England’s top-flight the former Deportivo La Coruna player returned – just a year after his departure – to his beloved Athletico.

In his five seasons at the Vicente Calderon, Luis has won a La liga title, the Copa del Rey, the Europa League, and been a runner-up in both the 2014 and 2016 Champions League.

He added: “I wanted to play with my heart for the team I love and finally, for the first time in my career, I now play where I want to play.

“Where I feel happy, where I feel confident to play and I feel free to do anything I want inside the pitch.

“That’s why this is the perfect place for me. My plans are to retire with Atletico.

“I have three more years on my contract so if I’m still good physically and still doing a good job, I want to stay longer.”

“Atletico will be my last club for sure.”
