“?Tottenham youngster Joshua Onomah has thanked manager Mauricio Pochettino for taking him on the club’s pre-season tour of Australia.

The 19-year-old was left disappointed after he was recently knocked out with England by Italy in the semi-finals of the European Under-19 Championship. 

But a call from Pochettino lightened the mood and Onomah has thanked his manager for showing an interest in him and his development. 

“We’d got all the way to the semi-finals in Germany and it was very disappointing to miss out,” he told Tottenham’s official website and as quoted on “?MailOnline

“But three hours later we got the call to tell us we were travelling out to Australia.

“It meant a lot to get that call from the gaffer, showing he cares and wants me to develop, and I thank him a lot for that.”

Pochettino has won a lot of plaudits from many pundits and journalists for developing and recruiting various Tottenham talents “? with the most notable, Harry Kane, also praising the Argentinian coach on previous occasions. 

“He’s a great manager and you want the best managers from around the world at your club,” the Tottenham striker said earlier this year in response to Pochettino being linked to the Manchester United job and as quoted on the “?Express

“When you have a top manager you want them to stay around for a long time. You can see how the rest of the team has improved under him,” the 23-year-old added.
