NPFL: Rangers Go Boot-To-Boot Against Enyimba

RANGERS International of Enugu, still believe the League diadem is still within their reach, restating that their first Premier League title in 32 years is not in danger, despite a home draw against Lobi Stars at the weekend which saw the Flying Antelopes surrendered their top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League table to Wikki Tourists.

Rangers are joint top of the NPFL table with 47 points with Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.

They will go toe-to-toe on Sun­day against reigning champions, Enyimba, in the match day 29 Oriental Derby fixture at Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex, Port Harcourt. “This is Rangers year and we are determined to make the most of it.”, General Manager of Rangers, Paul Ozor Chibuzor stated. “The Rangers boss is full of expectation going into the game against Rangers.

“At the moment, the play­ers are in high spirits. We’ve a complete team devoid of injuries or suspension concerns. “We’re going to Port Harcourt to take the three points from Enyimba. It’s like a neutral ground for the two teams, so we know we can go there and win. “It might interest you to know that our governor, His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will be at the stadium to watch and cheer Rangers to victory in Port Harcourt.” .

The Rangers boss was full of expectation going into the game.

The General Manager of six-time League champions said though the 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars was disappointing, it had in no way put their league title aspiration in doubt.

“Sometimes such results are expected. Other teams are not sleeping. “They always tend to raise their games when Rangers are involved. “Some even go the length of playing the spoiler’s role.

“Yes, it could be disappointing dropping points at home at this stage of the league but certainly it won’t derail our title ambition. We are going to Port Harcourt tomorrow to reclaim our spot”, he enthused.
