The report also adds that the 23-year-old would rather moving to Real Madrid, but has realised that chances of that are slim.

Several sources insist that United are ready to make an approach, and have readied an opening £87m bid for the Frenchman. They are also reporting that a deal is very close, claiming that the Manchester club have held back on releasing squad numbers as they hope to announce the signing first.

Reports toiday Man Utd have delayed naming their squad numbers as they hope to complete the £105m signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus

With former Chelsea boss taking up the reins at Old Trafford, the team is undergoing massive reconstruction. The Portuguese tactician has already completed transfers for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Mourinho is very keen on adding Pogba to this list, and is said to be curious at the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson allowed the player to join Juventus for free back in 2012. He is desperate to reshape his United midfield, viewing Pogba as the perfect player for his ambitions.

Pogba is currently on holiday, having represented his country at the Euros and helping lead them to the final which they ultimately lost to Portugal. He is set to return to Juventus on August 6th, but if reports are to be believed, he won’t be sticking around too long after that.
