German giants”? Bayern Munich are eyeing up a move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, “?according to the Express.

Contract talks between Arsenal and Koscielny have reportedly stalled, and Bayern are now interested in recruiting the 30-year-old Frenchman, who only has one year left on his current deal. The new deal would reportedly be worth around £90k a week.

Bayern have recently signed former Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, and it remains unclear whether, with fellow German international Jerome Boateng at the club, Koscielny would be keen on starting on the bench.

The German club are preparing for their first season after the departure of Pep Guardiola, with Carlo Ancelotti taking over at the Allianz Arena.

Koscielny is also set to miss the beginning of the Premier League season, after being given time off by manager Arsene Wenger due to his involvement in France’s run to the final during Euro 2016, playing in all seven of his country’s matches.

Koscielny joined Arsenal in 2010 in a transfer from French side Lorient, and has become a regular starter during his time with the North London side, making 248 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring 20 goals.

Arsenal have so far signed Swiss international Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano, and have also missed out on the signing of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, after he rebuffed their advances in favour of staying at the Premier League champions.

Bayern have signed Portuguese wonder-kid Renato Sanches and German international Mats Hummels, as well as letting go of Sebastian Rode and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as they prepare for their Bundesliga title defence.
