NPFL: Lobi Draw At Home With Ikorodu United

Lobi Stars FC - LogoIkorodu United picked their first point under Dutch coach Theo de Jong after holding hosts Lobi Stars to a 1-1 draw in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier League week 23 clash at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi on Today, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The result extended Lobi Stars’ unbeaten home streak in the NPFL to 58 games.

The hosts went into the lead through their top scorer, Anthony Okpotu, three minutes before the break.

The former Sudan-based striker beat his marker before lobbing the ball over Ikorodu United goalkeeper Segun Fatunwase.

The goal was Okpotu’s 11th of the campaign.

Kabir Balogun levelled scores  for the Oga Boys in the 58th minute, ghosting past a Lobi  defender and then slotting the ball past Chigozie Agbim.

It was Kabir’s third goal of the season for the Lagos-based outfit and his second against Lobi Stars this season after scoring in the reverse fixture.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute when Shedrack Francis was sent off  for a cynical foul.
Lobi Stars were awarded a penalty seven minutes from time which they failed to convert.
Relegation haunted Ikorodu  United held on to record their second  away point of the season.
