“?Tottenham’s Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are dominating England’s distance covered category for the Three Lions’ two games against Russia and Wales.
The Mail (“?101 Great Goals) have published a table in their printed edition recording the furthest distances covered by players in England’s first two games, and the only players outside of Tottenham who make the list are Adam Lallana who tops the chart with 7.50 miles against Russia and Wayne Rooney who notched up 6.76 miles against Wales.
Alli, Dier and Rose all dominate the table having their scores recorded on two occasions in the list of 10.
Tottenham, often praised for their high-intensity football since Mauricio Pochettino succeeded Tim Sherwood in 2014, are said to have the fittest squad in the Premier League. And the data from their players representing the Three Lions at Euro 2016 would suggest so.
But England’s Tottenham contingent have done more than run up and down in France. While Kane may not be having the best of tournaments, his team-mates continue to impress.
Rose and Walker have been praised for how well they have attacked and defended in their full-back positions.
Meanwhile, Dier has performed exceptionally well in the holding midfield role and even managed to cap off his impressive displays with a goal from a well executed free-kick against Russia.
Alli is yet to replicate the form he showed for his club “? much like Kane “? but the 20-year-old did assist Daniel Sturridge for England’s stoppage time winner against Wales.
