Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has deserved his promotion to the main team from the youth side.
On Tuesday night, Iheanacho scored in a 4-1 thrashing of Hull City on Tuesday to reach the semi-final of League Cup.
The 19-year-old striker has now scored three goals this season for Manchester City.
Pellegrini has now said the FIFA U17 World Cup winner at UAE 2013 has justified his a place in the team and his progress determine his future.
“It is good that Kelechi (Iheanacho) is getting goals and doing well. He has shown he merit to play for the team in all competitions,” he remarked.
“He is young and always ready to learn. His progress and improvement will determine his future.”
