Ghana attacker Mahatma Otoo scored his 9th goal of the season in the Norwegian top-flight after netting for Sogndal IF in their decent 3-0 win over Nest-Sotra on Monday night.
The 23-year-old put his name on the score-sheet five minutes before half-time as his Sogndal side continued their press for a return to the Norwegian Eliteserien with a third straight win.
Otoo’s strike put out the life in the opposition who are struggling in the relegation zone as Sogndal further widened the lacuna at the summit of the table.
The former Hearts of Oak striker was rumoured to be close to a switch to English side West Bromwich Albion but nothing concrete happened around the deal.
He is on his third season with Sogndal following his move from Hearts of Oak in Ghana.
