Lorient attacker Abdul Majeed Waris has disclosed that he hopes to score more goals for his new side after fetching his first of the season in Saturday’s 3-1 win over newly promoted side Angers.
The former Trapzonspor striker provided an assist for Yann Jouffre a minute into the second half to fetch the equalizer and shot Lorient in front with a beautiful strike with seventeen minutes to end the game and has insisted he hopes to score more.
“As a striker my job is to score goals. I was brought here to do that job and I think I need to do exactly that. I am very happy that I am playing my favourite role here and hopefully I will score more,” Waris said.
“Even though I don’t set a target for the number of goals I want to score in the season, my prayer is to be fit all season and for the coach to always play me in my favourite position. If that happens, I will score more,” he added.
Waris is having his second spell in the French Ligue 1 after he played for Vallenciene two season ago scoring nine goals in sixteen appearances.
