Breaking News: Black Meteors squad for All Africa Games named, no foreign-based player invited

The technical committee of the national U23 side the Black Meteors has named the 23-man squad for the All Africa Games without any foreign-based player, GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

Reports in the media had earlier revealed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports had disclosed that there is no funds to secure tickets for the foreign based contingent of the team to join but attempts to reach the ministry for confirmation proved futile.

It is however not clear whether the foreign based players were not invited becauae of that claim.

All the 20 players invited are hence from the local league with two players from Kotoko, WAFA, New Edubiase, Medeama and Wa All Stars.

The team which is expected to leave on the 27th of August is made up of 3 goalkeepers, 7 defenders, 6 midfielders and 4 attackers.
