Italian Serie B side Latina have terminated the contract of Ghanaian youngster Nii Nortey Ashong, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.
A statement on the club website read: “The US Latina Calcio announce the termination of the contract of player Nii Nortey Ashong.”
The 20-year-old signed a three-year contract with Latina last July and spent last season on loan at Pro League side Matera.
Ashong joined Latina on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Fiorentina.
The left-footed defender signed for Fiorentina in September 2011 from Triestina in a co-ownership deal.
